Paying tribute to the cultural deities of the later half of the 20th century, “rock gods” highlights the perceived divinity apparent throughout the many social landscapes of the commoner that often hold sacred the music, art, fashion, and social commentary that is disseminated from these “gods” viewed as “higher-beings”. By breaking video of these “gods” down to 15 sec intervals that are replayed yet continuously moving forward, “rock gods” emulates the gods of old embodied in sculpture and other timeless forms. Yet here, inscribed permanently in video, viewers can atone to their every micro-movement and give sacrifice to time.
